FAQs

How much does a stall cost?

Stall fees vary by edition and stall size, however, start at $175 incl GST. Please refer to the application form once available.

What size are the stalls?

Stall dimensions may vary depending on the venue layout for each edition. We'll provide full details when you apply.

There are options of 2x1.5m, 3x1.5m and 4x2m in the alcoves.

What's included with my stall?

Stallholders need to bring all their own display fixtures, backwalls, signage, and styling. Trestle tables and chairs are available to rent at an additional cost, but quantities are limited—so we recommend bringing your own where possible.

Do you accept hot food, LMMs, or products that are not handmade or designed by the stallholder?

No, we do not accept hot food, LMMs (locally made mass-produced goods), or products that are not handmade or designed by the applicant. Our focus is on original, design-led work by Australian makers and small creative businesses. The venue is not suitable for food being cooked on site and does not have an outside area for food trucks. Additionally, we are committed to supporting Ballarat’s vibrant local hospitality scene—nearby cafes, restaurants, and hotels are our valued partners for fresh food and dining.

However, we do welcome a select range of ready-to-eat food products such as bakery goods, cookies, preserves, food hampers, and other pre-packaged items—provided they are made in small batches and reflect the same standards of quality, creativity, and thoughtful presentation as our design stalls. Coffee cart applications are also welcome. All food offerings must be pre-approved and align with our curated, design-led ethos.

We do not accept mass-produced, imported, or factory-made items, as our curation is dedicated to showcasing genuine craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and authentic storytelling. This ensures a premium, cohesive experience for both makers and visitors, and upholds the values at the heart of The Ballarat Makers Edit.

Can I share a stall with another maker?

Generally we assess both businesses for fit for an edition and can place them next to each other at separate stalls, or in some cases offer one of the alcoves. Please contact us before applying.

Do I need my own insurance?

Yes, all stallholders are required to hold current $10M public liability insurance. Details will need to be provided during the application process.

How are stallholders selected?

We curate each edition based on originality, craftsmanship, presentation, and how your work complements the overall market mix. Preference is given to Australian Made certified products.

Can I sell at multiple editions?

Yes! Many of our makers return each season. Returning stallholders still need to apply for each edition, but we love seeing familiar faces. We aim to change it up regularly, so you may be placed on a waitlist.

What are the bump-in and bump-out times?

Bump-in is typically the morning of the market. Bump-out is immediately after closing. Full details are provided closer to the event. Your stall can remain set up overnight on multiday events.

Is there parking for stallholders?

Loading zones are available for bump-in and bump-out. There is no parking at the venue, but paid and free parking is available around the Ballarat CBD. We'll share parking options and access details with accepted stallholders.
